Do these prostate cancer treatments cause quicker death

In today’s newsletter, we are going to look at prostate cancer outcomes.

And we’ll look at what it shows us we can do to lessen the likelihood of getting cancer or of having bad effects if we do get it.

Our first stop here is to look at many anticancer drugs and how they cause cancer. Yes — you read that right.

They CAUSE cancer.

And we’ve known it for a long time.

The paper looks at 37 drugs — all of them have profoundly carcinogenic effects.

And doctors use all of these drugs on cancer patients.

Some of these are earlier drugs which doctors do not use anymore.  And others are new drugs which are very expensive and are in current use.

But nothing has really changed in the last 30 years with cancer treatment.

Now let’s look at the treatment of prostate cancer in particular. Working to look at what happens when people get treated for prostate cancer.

Now you are going to have to have an open mind here.

What we are going to discuss is very contrary to what your doctor is probably going to tell you.

But we are just looking at the evidence here. We are not making things up or expressing opinions that are not based on fact.

Are you open-minded enough to continue?

If so, read on. Glad you are still with me.

In this study, they looked over many years at about 7500 men.

The men all received a diagnosis of prostate cancer positively and with certainty. The study has gone on for several decades and looked at who lives and who dies and what they have in common.

This is the kind of evidence-based medicine that is really in short supply.

Nobody wants to do this kind of study.

Most studies get their funding indirectly or directly by giant pharmaceutical corporations.

And these corporations are all trying to sell expensive cancer treatments.

Doctors get their training in medical schools funded with billions of dollars from these giant pharmaceutical corporations.

Very few doctors or normal people ever see what works and what doesn’t.

What I will look at here specifically is all cause mortality.

It’s easy to make a judgment that someone dies from a side effect of a cancer drug. Maybe the side effect causes severe anemia, and they die from the anemia.

However, they really died from cancer.

To eliminate the bias introduced by calling a death cancer or another death not from cancer, we just look at who lives and who dies.

This total is all cause mortality.

You can’t fudge it because either someone is dead or alive.  While you can misattribute the cause of death, you can’t miss attribute death.

It’s pretty easy to diagnose, LOL.

There are four ways of treating prostate cancer.

One way to treat it is to do nothing. This path is sometimes called “watchful waiting.”

It literally means doing nothing.

Most men who get prostate cancer will not die from their prostate cancer. They will die of old age or some other complication having little or nothing to do with prostate cancer.

So, why treat the prostate cancer at all?

The study discusses the three other ways of treating prostate cancer.  It covers:

men who underwent radical prostatectomy, men who received external-beam radiation therapy, and men who received primary androgen-deprivation therapy.

Noticed that these treatments all have pretty bad effects.

Many men who get their prostate removed have very poor sexual lives afterward or can never have sex again.

Some men do fine in some and do not.

Many men get external beam radiation therapy.

And they end up sick or getting another cancer in another part of the body.  What’s worse is that the radiation therapy may have caused this new cancer.

And men who receive primary androgen-deprivation therapy often experience becoming a eunuch.

They suffer chemically castration — and that is in any fun either.

So you see it’s very hard to tell what would’ve happened if people had done nothing.

You’re three times more likely to die from androgen deprivation therapy and over twice as likely to die from electron beam radiation.

That’s as compared to just getting your prostate removed.

But what if you just do watchful waiting and you don’t get your prostate removed?

They make it very difficult to see the true effects.

You can see that the entire cancer treatment area is a big huge mess of super high-profitable procedures, surgeries, and drugs.

And then the poor patient gets caught in the middle.

Even the drugs used to fight the cancer cause cancer themselves.

And the more aggressive treatments like androgen deprivation therapy and electron-beam therapy actually increase the death rate.

It doubles or triples it.
