Why I’m putting this supplement in my coffee

I’ve written many articles about the benefits of glycine – and it’s often mentioned in my newsletters.

Glycine is an amino acid – one of the building blocks of protein – but it’s very different from all other amino acids.

Glycine stands out as an anti-inflammatory and protective amino acid.

It offsets some of the inflammatory effects of other amino acids contained in proteins.

Glycine consumption seems to protect every part of the body – in particular the brain, liver, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.

Most people don’t get enough glycine – and consuming more high-glycine foods can do a lot to lower your risk of serious disease over the long term.

The review article from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was published in Current Opinion in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolic Care.

The authors of this study decided to recount some of the recent research showing the vast array of benefits attributable to glycine.

“In recent years, evidence has mounted in favor of the anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and cytoprotective effects of the simplest amino acid L-glycine.”

Glycine is a calming, anti-inflammatory substance.

It can help against some of the most common causes of mortality where the body is sent into shock, which can end in a death spiral.

Endotoxin is a bacterial fragment which causes a cascade of potentially lethal inflammation when it gets loose in the body.

This endotoxin is a major trigger for sepsis – which is a major cause of death.

Glycine also has numerous protective effects against hemorrhage.

“Glycine protects against shock caused by hemorrhage, endotoxin and sepsis.”

Reperfusion injury happens when blood and oxygen is restored to tissues which have been deprived for some time.

The depredation of oxygen causes some injury – but the rapid restoration of oxygen causes even more harm – known as reperfusion injury.

Glycine can minimize reperfusion injury – this has major implications for conditions like stroke and heart attack.

Glycine prevents ischemia/reperfusion injury to a variety of tissues and organs including liver, kidney, heart, intestine and skeletal muscle.”

Glycine protects the liver against drugs and other toxins – including alcohol – which are known to cause liver damage.

“Glycine diminishes liver and renal injury caused by hepatic and renal toxicants and ‘treatments.’”

Glycine can also limit joint inflammation and destruction in experimental arthritis.

“Glycine also protects against peptidoglycan polysaccharide-induced arthritis and inhibits gastric secretion and protects the gastric mucosa against chemically and stress-induced ulcers.”

This amino acid helps to limit immune system responses.

In children and healthy people the immune system ramps up very quickly, but then calms down very quickly too.

As we get older or as our metabolic system declines we lose the ability to rapidly calm down our immune system.

This leads to unnecessary inflammation – a driver of disease and death.

Glycine helps to limit excessive immune system activation, decreasing the likelihood of severe symptoms from infectious disease.

“Glycine acts on inflammatory cells such as macrophages to suppress activation of transcription factors and the formation of free radicals and inflammatory cytokines.”

This protective substance also has numerous effects on the cells themselves.

It helps to stabilize cells, normalize the flow of molecules in and out of the cell and glycine can prevent cell death.

“Lastly, glycine blocks the opening of relatively non-specific pores in the plasma membrane that occurs as the penultimate event leading to necrotic cell death.”

People used to get more glycine in their diet. It comes mostly from gelatin, collagen and gelatinous cuts of meat.

Glycine is an all round protective substance and you should make sure that you’re getting some everyday.

During any type of stress or disease, it can be beneficial to consume significantly more glycine rich foods.

“Multiple protective effects make glycine a promising treatment strategy for inflammatory diseases.”

I discovered 1 food that all men 110 or 120 are eating — one food.

And people like Dr. Atkins, Nathan Pritkin, Euell Gibbons — they are famous health gurus and they all avoided this one food and they all ended life young.

So men avoid this one food and live not so long.

And men who eat this one food every day live often to 100 or 110 or longer.

So now I’m eating this one food. And I’m 63 but I feel like I’m 20.

I work 12 or 14 hours a day and I have fantastic stamina with my wife Jodi.

And this can be you — just by incorporating this one food the right way into your diet.

I’m showing you how in my Getting Diet Right Transformation — you’ll tell me what you’re eating now, what you like to eat…

And I’ll show you how to incorporate this 1 food and how it will benefit you.
