What doctors aren’t telling men about blood sugar

Here’s what doctors aren’t going to tell you about diabetes.

(Not because they are bad people – just because they don’t know.)

In most cases, type 2 diabetes is REVERSIBLE.

Not type 1 diabetes (which is completely different from type 2) – but type 2 is completely, 100% reversible in many cases.

In the cases where it’s not, most people can STILL get significant improvement.

And here is the second thing doctors don’t normally tell you about diabetes…

It has NOTHING to do with sugar. And I mean nothing.

These two things are the exact opposite of the two big myths around diabetes…

…that once you have it, you just have to “live” with it… and that it’s all about sugar metabolism.

Now, I want to be clear here. I’m not telling you to stop your diabetes medication.

Don’t do that unless you are working directly with your doctor on getting off safely. I’m not a medical doctor and I can’t give you medical advice.

But what I can tell you is this…

Most of the treatments that are available today just put a Band-Aid on diabetes, instead of dealing with the underlying causes of the disease.

And if you deal with the underlying causes, then in most cases you can minimize the symptoms or even reverse them completely.

So what is the actual cause of diabetes?

Interaction between hormone-sensitive lipase and ChREBP in fat cells controls insulin sensitivity

This is going to BLOW you away.

Because almost everybody THINKS that diabetes is caused by a problem your body has with processing sugar.

But that is a SYMPTOM of the disease, not the cause.

Diabetes is actually CAUSED by problems your body has with fat metabolism.

“Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is an enzyme which converts fats into fatty acids and releases them into the bloodstream. In obese patients, these fatty acids trigger the gradual insulin resistance at the origin of type 2 diabetes.”

If you fix the problem with how your body processes FAT then you can minimize or reverse diabetes.

Now, this surprises most people, but it’s 100% true.

Let’s set this up by looking at the background of this study.

“Previous research by the Inserm team of Dominique Langin had shown that a decrease in HSL expression in the adipocytes led to a better response to insulin, a sign of good health for these cells.”

Releasing less HSL into the bloodstream (and converting less fat into fatty acids) made the cells respond BETTER to insulin.

Crazy, huh?

But what came next was REALLY, REALLY surprising to the researchers.

Surprisingly, the researchers observed that the beneficial effect of a reduction in HSL was not actually due to the reduced release of fatty acid.

They found that it was explained by the increased synthesis of oleic acid.

Oleic acid is an important component of coconut oil.

Surprised? Most people are.

Here’s the thing. Too much fat in your diet is just bad for you. Really, really bad.

But the WRONG kinds of fats are even worse.

They can sit in your body and cause insulin resistance, internal inflammation, and all kinds of other health issues.

And these bad fats are EXACTLY the kind of fats that are EVERYWHERE.

They’re called PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids) and they’re in almost all processed foods and probably in your cupboard.

PUFAs include things like fish oil, soy oil, corn oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, and most shortenings.

And they are the exact kind of fats that CAUSE diabetes.

What works better is to limit your fat intake to small amounts of fats that contain oleic acid.

Coconut oil is great, olive oil in small quantities (and not heated) is okay, and – believe it or not – small quantities of butter are good.

Treating the underlying cause of diabetes – fat metabolism – can help you get rid of it completely.
