Here’s what Chinese herbalist men are eating to last hours in bed

The Chinese were using ganoderma lucidum as a medicinal mushroom as long as 2,000 years ago.

In China, they call it lingzhi.

Most people might know the mushroom by its Japanese name – reishi.

People use this mushroom for its anti-cancer effects and to boost the immune system.

And now, recent studies show that it can boost testosterone and sexual appetite in male animals.

The researchers carried out animal experiments at the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ziauddin University, Pakistan. The International Journal of Phytomedicine and Phytotherapy published the results.

Reishi mushroom is a traditional remedy in China for male sexual problems.

“Reishi was traditionally used to manage male sexual dysfunction.”

These researchers designed animal experiments to see if there is any truth to those claims.

“This study was designed to investigate and establish the traditional aphrodisiac potential of the herb.”

They used four groups of male rats with six rats in each group:

  • One group of rats received no treatment.
  • A second group received low-dose reishi mushroom.
  • A third group received a higher dose of reishi.
  • They gave the final group sildenafil (Viagra).

And they kept the animals on the regimens for 40 days.

Then, at the end of the 40 days, the researchers tested testosterone levels in the rats.

Reishi mushroom significantly increased testosterone levels.

“Serum testosterone levels were significantly increased in the treatment groups.”

Testosterone levels doubled after 40 days on the high dose of reishi mushroom.

And the animals given low-dose reishi mushroom ended up with even higher levels of testosterone.

“The results of our study show that Ganoderma lucidum significantly elevated the testosterone level in male rats.”

Scientists believe that testosterone is one of the major factors in sexual desire and sexual performance.

“Many research studies have reported that increase in the sexual desire may be due to an increase in testosterone.”

Testosterone boosts dopamine – which improves sexual appetite and performance.

“Testosterone is a major stimulator of dopamine which helps in conducting the actions related to sexual behavior and copulation.”

The researchers tested the libido and sexual function of the male rats.

They gave the rats access to females on day 10, day 20, and day 40 of the experiment.

And reishi mushroom increased sexual desire in the male rats.

“The rats treated with extract were more interested in female rats.”

In addition, the mushroom supplement increased sexual activity in the animals.

“Reishi significantly increased the mounting behavior and mating performance. It increased the number of intromissions and ejaculations.”

The lower dose of reishi was more effective at increasing sexual drive and performance.

And the high dose of reishi increased sexual drive and sexual performance similar to when using Viagra.

So the low dose of reishi mushroom out-performed Viagra on most of the tests.

“Reishi extract significantly increases the sexual desire when compared with the control group and sildenafil citrate (Viagra).”

Reishi improved many aspects of sexual performance.

“The increase in the intromission and ejaculation frequencies with the administration of reishi indicates that extract significantly increases the sexual performance of male rats.”

The improvement in sexual performance in the mice led the researchers to believe it may be useful for erectile dysfunction.

“Reishi may be investigated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.”

The reishi mushroom contains a number of steroids.

And researchers believe that these plant components may boost the production of human steroids such as testosterone – increasing libido and sexual performance.

“Steroids are one of the dominant components of reishi, and the enhancement in sexual activity exhibited in the present study may be due to the presence of steroids.”

This study indicates that we could use reishi mushroom to boost libido and treat erectile dysfunction.

“We conclude that reishi may be a new promising aphrodisiac agent, which can be used to promote the sexual performance of men.”

You should always consult a healthcare practitioner about treating and diagnosing health-related problems.
