Curcumin has long been recognized as a very powerful anticancer compound.

It’s the compound that makes turmeric yellow. Turmeric is a very common spice, especially in Indian cooking.

You can buy turmeric very inexpensively at an Indian grocery store.

And you can buy various turmeric extracts that contain concentrated amounts of curcumin.

Curcumin is very powerful. And it is NOT estrogenic.

So… It’s inexpensive, available, powerful, not harmful…

BUT it is very hard to get curcumin to enter the bloodstream.

It just does not get through the gut barrier easily.

So far, the most effective use of curcumin has been to promote the shrinking or elimination of tumors in the digestive tract (colon cancer, for example).

It may even prevent colon cancer.

But since it doesn’t cross the gut barrier into the body, its anticancer value has been pretty much limited to that one cancer.

Supplement manufacturers use various strategies to try and improve the absorption of curcumin.

Piperine, an extract of black pepper, is one of the most commonly used curcumin boosters, but even that doesn’t improve the absorption of curcumin very much.

So, great news:

A 2013 study shows that you can prepare curcumin at home to make it enter your bloodstream at much higher concentrations.

There were two parts to this study.

In part one, the researchers cooked curcumin and analyzed the result.

And that was a new type of curcumin they called deketene curcumin.

In the second part of the study, they applied deketene curcumin to cancer cells and found it had the striking effect of killing cancer cells.

This is very promising!

You can easily cook curcumin by just putting the powder in a pan and heating it.

In fact, in a lot of Indian cooking, they don’t use the raw spice at all. They cook it first.

Sometimes they just put it in a pan and roast it.

But here’s another study which is even more interesting.

The authors of this study suggest that boiling curcumin in water for 10 minutes can activate the curcumin…

…and that this really boosts the chances it will pass through the gut barrier into the bloodstream.

Just boil it for 10 minutes, let it cool down, and drink it. That’s basically it.

There may be other ways to prepare curcumin, but this is about the simplest.

The worst that can happen is most of it stays in your gut where it helps fight colon cancer anyway.

But it is quite possible that a lot of the curcumin, or at least some of it, will enter the bloodstream this way.

If you are really serious about getting curcumin into your bloodstream, consider liposomal curcumin.

It’s very expensive, but it should work very well – even compared to the boiling water method. It’s just a lot more expensive.
