The researchers of this study were famous neurologists.

They knew from previous studies that light exposure influences sexual cycle, pituitary activity, and fertility.

So, they wanted to test how light irradiation influences sex hormones once again.

They recruited a group of middle-aged men.

Then, they used a lamp which of the spectrum consists of 52% infrared, 20% luminous, and 28% ultraviolet rays.

This is important because the spectrum of this lamp is very similar to that of the sun.

The researchers shone light on different parts of the bodies of the participants.

They started with 8 minutes and every day they increased the duration by 2 minutes.

They did this till they got up to 20 minutes.

After each experiment, they collected the data of androsterone excretion.

And ALL of the participants achieved very similar results.

As you can see in the result chart, irradiating the chest increased androsterone output by about 120%

“After 5 irradiations of the chest, the hormone output was raised to 155 i.u. per liter, that is, an increase of 120%”

Moreover, shining light on genital area yielded a hefty 200% increase.

“The next series of irradiation was applied solely to the genital region and its immediate vicinity, the remainder of the body being carefully protected from all rays. After 5 irradiations during 6 days, the androsterone excretion was raised from 70 to 205 i.u., nearly 200%.”

Also, they stressed that more is not always better, because more irradiation from this point did not lead to an increase.

“Five more irradiations during the next 5 days did not further raise the hormone output.”

It is basically a U curve.

“5 irradiations are more effective than 3 irradiations; furthermore, that 10 irradiations are not more effective than 5 irradiations.”
