Now before we dive into today’s article… let’s address the elephant in the room…

YES, that looks pretty icky.

It’s something called nattokinase.

But let me quickly tell you why it might be your new best friend!

Okay so — atherosclerosis. It’s a common health problem that affects a lot of men.

Atherosclerosis is when plaque builds up inside your arteries over time, making it harder for blood to flow through them.

This can cause all sorts of problems, including heart attacks, strokes, and even death.

In fact, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men in the United States… unfortunately.

Even more than cancer or accidents.

That has to tell us about our current lifestyle and food choices.

The numbers are just unbelievable – it doesn’t look like it’ll get better soon as well…

There are several ways to prevent atherosclerosis other than obvious lifestyle changes.

And one option is nattokinase.

Nattokinase is a natural enzyme that’s extracted from natto, a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans.

Natto has been a staple of Japanese cuisine for over a thousand years, and it’s believed to have all sorts of health benefits.

I usually don’t recommend eating soy AT ALL.

But in this case, natto is a bit different. Because it contains SUPER-HIGH amounts of nattokinase and vitamin K2 – amazing heart-protective substances.

With that said, it could be a strategic tool.

Now let’s see today’s study.

This study was conducted at Sun Yat-sen University, China. It was published in Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine.

The researchers looked at the effects of Nattokinase (NK) on atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia (excess fat in the blood) in over 1,000 people over the course of a year.

They gave some participants Nattokinase every day for a year, while others received a placebo.

They then measured the participants’ cholesterol levels and the thickness of their carotid arteries – an indicator of atherosclerosis.

The results showed that the group who took NK had significant improvements in their cholesterol levels and the thickness of their carotid arteries.

“We found that NK at a dose of 10,800 FU/day effectively managed the progression of atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia with a significant improvement in the lipid profile. A significant reduction in the thickness of the carotid artery intima-media and the size of the carotid plaque was observed. The improvement rates ranged from 66.5 to 95.4%. “

The researchers found that NK was only effective at a higher dose of 10,800 FU per day and not at a lower dose of 3,600 FU per day.

The researchers also found that the effects of NK were more significant in people who smoked, drank alcohol, and had a higher body mass index (BMI).

“NK was found to be ineffective in lowering lipids and suppressing atherosclerosis progression at a dose of 3,600 FU/day. The lipid-lowering effect of NK was more prominent in subjects who smoked, drank alcohol, and subjects with higher BMI”

The worse the condition was, the better the results.

Regular exercise also improved the effects of NK.

Also, the effects were even more significant when they co-administered nattokinase with vitamin K2 and aspirin.

“Co-administration of vitamin K2 and aspirin with NK produced a synergetic effect. No noticeable adverse effects associated with the use of NK were recorded.”

Because aspirin and vitamin K2 are two other anti-atherosclerosis treatments.

All in all, this study was remarkable.

It showed how effective Nattokinase, aspirin, and Vitamin K2 were at improving heart health.

This study used supplement versions of nattokinase and vitamin K2.

If you go for that route, great – but as I’ve said, natto can also be used.
