Is your house the reason you’re not feeling good?
More than 50% of houses in the United States are inhabited by these toxic fungi.
What am I referring to?
Those black stains on the roofs and walls of houses.
Mold.
If you were to ask me, Matt, what is the best decision you have ever made?
I would tell you that it was moving out of the moldy house.
Because I couldn’t believe the speed at which my health improved after I moved out of there – nothing else has ever come close.
Mold is a fungal growth that forms and spreads on various kinds of damp or decaying organic matter.
Excess moisture is the main cause of mold.
So if your house is damp or your roof leaks, there is a chance that it has mold, even if it is not visible.
It may not seem like a big problem, but I assure you it is.
Molds produce cells called spores to reproduce and release them into the air to spread.
When you have mold in your home, you take these spores into your body through physical contact and breathing them in.
This is problematic because these spores contain byproducts incredibly harmful to human health, such as mycotoxins.
Depending on the type of mycotoxin, they can cause various adverse health effects.
Some of these are:
- Cancer
- Weakened Immune System
- Various Lung related diseases
- Allergies
- Neurotoxic symptoms
- and Cardiovascular problems.
Today, I will show you a study that examines the relationship between mold exposure and one of the most “popular” diseases of recent times.
This review was written at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. It was published in The Internet Journal of Toxicology.
I have written dozens of articles about high cholesterol because so many men are affected by it.
But this article comes at it from a very different angle.
Because who would have guessed that cholesterol is linked to your home?
Apparently, researchers did.
Cholesterol is actually not as harmful as it’s made out to be; on the contrary, it’s a steroid hormone that has many functions in your body.
So what’s the problem, then?
The problem starts when cholesterol is not properly regulated by the body.
Cholesterol builds up in the arteries and starts to clog the arteries.
This doesn’t make cholesterol inherently harmful – it’s just a sign that something is wrong in the body.
This is where mold exposure comes in; according to this research, mycotoxins disrupt the body’s cholesterol regulation.
“Evidently, mycotoxins have properties that could disrupt the enzymes that maintain the cholesterol balance in the body. This disruption can be exemplified by some mechanisms that involve the breaking and remaking of bonds.”
These toxic mycotoxins even find their way into the structure of cholesterol – the body unintentionally utilizes these toxins while trying to use cholesterol.
It’s unbelievable.
“The active sites in the cholesterol methyl groups can be replaced with benzene ring or phenyl group (Ph) from mycotoxin in order to achieve a stable configuration that exerts toxic effects in humans.”
And last but not least, these mycotoxins disrupt the flow of cholesterol in the blood vessels and cause it to build up, leading to heart attacks.
“It is most probable that the interaction of mycotoxins with the
regulatory enzymes would slow down the recirculation and locally disturbs blood flows at arterial bifurcations, thereby providing favorable conditions for the accumulation of atherogenic cholesterol at the luminal surface, and thus increasing the potential for lipid infiltration into the vessel wall.”
So, mold is serious threat to cardiovascular health, and the researchers summarized it very well with this quote:
“Mycotoxins could adversely affect cholesterol metabolism through interactions with the related enzymes and disruption of cellular supply and utilization of cholesterol, and bile acid synthesis, it is most likely that individuals exposed to chronic toxigenic molds might be at risk of neurological disorders including cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”
In other words, if you have mold in your home, start looking for solutions immediately.
I found the solution by moving.
It may sound easier said than done, but I assure you that you can do it if you want it badly enough.
Remember, health is wealth.
