For decades, the U.S. government has been recommending certain foods that can help prevent blood sugar problems and diabetes.

And yet, real studies are showing that these so-called “healthy” foods are CAUSING prediabetes and diabetic symptoms in men!

And now more than 29 million adults in the U.S. — over 10 percent of the population — currently have diabetes or prediabetes symptoms…

And most shockingly — the foods that Big Pharma recommends to prevent blood sugar problems are actually making the symptoms WORSE.

That’s why I put these bad foods here — prepare to be shocked. You probably ate 2 of these foods just for breakfast…

How to use taurine to open up the arteries and improve blood flow

Taurine is an amino acid found in protein.

These days it is becoming a popular supplement.

It’s often found in energy drinks too.

Taurine research has shown that it can have a wide range of health benefits.

For one, it can improve the health of blood vessels.

In young men with diabetes, taurine rapidly reverses damage to the blood vessels which can otherwise result in atherosclerosis.

The human study was carried out at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. The paper was published in Diabetes & Vascular Disease Research.

People with type 1 or type 2 diabetes tend to have higher blood pressure.

“Even clinically asymptomatic type 1 diabetic have statistically higher systolic blood pressure when compared with healthy controls.”

The main factor that determines blood pressure is the ability of blood vessels to relax and widen.

When blood vessels become stiff and narrow the body has to increase blood pressure in order to supply the same amount of blood through the diseased blood vessels.

Cardiovascular problems are often caused by problems in the blood vessels.

Even young children with diabetes suffer from cardiovascular problems.

“There is even evidence of cardiovascular abnormalities in diabetic children as young as 11 years.”

The inner wall of the blood vessel is the most important part of this vascular system.

This is called the endothelium — it’s responsible for relaxing the blood vessels.

The endothelium becomes stiff and coated with plaque in people with cardiovascular problems.

These days we have a number of high-tech methods which can look at the health of the blood vessel endothelium.

Using these technologies we can see these problems even before symptoms present.

“Non-invasive assessment of endothelial function in diabetics is both reproducible and reliable.”

Taurine is a building block of protein which is known to have numerous protective effects on the cardiovascular system.

This study looked at the effect of taurine on endothelial health in men with diabetes.

“We hypothesised that taurine supplementation reverses early endothelial abnormalities in young male type 1 diabetics.”

The researchers recruited nine young men with diabetes to take part in the study.

None of the men had any symptoms of atherosclerosis or other cardiovascular disease.

At the beginning of the study all the men had their blood vessels checked out.

Their endothelial function was analyzed to see if they had any signs of problems.

The researchers also recruited 10 healthy men who did not have diabetes.

They carried out the same scans on their blood vessels.

The men were then split into two different groups.

One group received supplemental taurine.

The other group took a similar looking but inactive placebo supplement.

Neither the researchers nor the participants knew which participants were getting the active ingredient.

“Asymptomatic, male diabetics were scanned prior to treatment and then randomised in a double-blind cross-over fashion to receive either 2 weeks placebo or taurine.”

The researchers gave 500mg of taurine to be taken 3 times a day.

This is slightly more than what is found in common energy drinks like Red Bull.

“Diabetics were supplemented with 1.5 g/day taurine (500 mg three times daily) for 14 days.”

Compared with healthy men, the diabetics showed clear signs of endothelial dysfunction.

Their blood vessels were stiffer and unable to relax fully.

“Diabetics had detectable, statistically significant abnormalities when compared with controls, in both arterial stiffness and brachial artery reactivity.”

These changes make it more difficult for blood to flow, increasing blood pressure and eventually increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

But just 14 days of taurine supplementation reversed the disease processes in the diabetic blood vessels.

“These parameters were returned to control levels with 2 weeks taurine supplementation.”

1.5 grams of taurine completely normalized stiff and inflexible blood vessels.

They were indistinguishable from the blood vessels of healthy young men.

”2 weeks taurine supplementation reverses early, detectable conduit vessel abnormalities in young male diabetics.”

The researchers concluded that taurine could be a useful aid in the prevention of atherosclerosis in people with diabetes.

“This may have important implications in the long-term treatment of diabetic patients and their subsequent progression towards atherosclerotic disease.”

Very few foods contain significant amounts of taurine — the exception being sea scallop.
