Drugs like Tamsulosin cause ejaculatory problems in men

Alpha-1 blockers are very common prostate medications these days.

When they came out, the drug companies were all over how wonderful they are — of course.

They now get doctors to prescribe them all the time.

Tamsulosin and other drugs in the same class are prescribed without much concern at all.

And Big Pharma finances and sponsors studies showing how safe these drugs are.

Here is a partial list of alpha-1 blockers:

However, there has been a continual controversy around these drugs.

There have been many connections between using them to treat prostate and erectile dysfunction.

Men constantly complain that they have sexual side effects from alpha blockers.

But the drug companies refuse to admit that these side effects happen.

They fund repeated studies that “prove” that there are no sexual side effects to alpha blockers.

And of course, these Big Pharma funded studies deliver not guilty verdicts — every time.

There seems to be an endless supply of doctors and researchers willing to take part in these so-called studies.

And they’re willing to come up with the result that drug companies want them to show.

However, eventually, the truth comes out.

And in this case, the truth is coming out of Japan:

a

The drug companies have had their explanation for the ejaculation problem all along.

In a phrase, they call it “retrograde ejaculation.”

Retrograde ejaculation supposedly means that instead of the semen coming out of the penis, some of it enters the bladder.

And retrograde ejaculation in the bladder does happen.

But it isn’t a result of these drugs.

Retrograde ejaculation will happen if you block in ejaculation by pinching the so-called “million-dollar spot.”

This block is an interruption of the stream of prostatic fluid by pushing the point between the anus and the scrotum.

Pressure to this spot is used to stop an ejaculation that is in progress.

People think that doing this will intensify their sexual experience, but that’s not today’s topic.

The practice will send the semen into the bladder instead of letting it escape as ejaculate usually does.

It’s not particularly harmful.

But you will know you’ve had retrograde ejaculation.

When you urinate, you will see some semen in your urine — it’s pretty obvious.

So this drug company argument never really made any sense.

But they’ve used the argument for years to protect millions of dollars in sales of these alpha-1 blockers.

But like this study shows, the truth will come out eventually.

In this excellent study, the researchers first took some prostatic tissue.

And then they observed the effect of alpha-1 blockers on the tissue itself.

They wanted a baseline for alpha-1 drugs like Tamsulosin’s side effects.

Then the researchers tested 17 healthy men.

They gave them various alpha blockers.

And they observed what happened with their ejaculations.

They measured the quality and contents of their semen.

The researchers found that these alpha-1 blockers frequently lower emission of semen by 80%.

That is that the drugs themselves cause a radical decrease in the emission of semen.

And they made everything else about the ejaculation worse in addition to the quality of the semen.

Our study clearly indicated that the problem is not retrograde ejaculation, but INSTEAD, seminal emission disorder.

The question is, is this reversible?

The researchers THINK that it is.

However, it is quite possible that these drugs do permanent damage over time.

This research study was very quick and worked with young, healthy men.

It’s likely that the results would be even more pronounced if they studied older men.

If you take older men who already are experiencing ejaculatory issues, and give them alpha-one blockers, you’d see more serious problems.

Over time, there may be serious side effects that may not be reversible.

There’s reason to believe that this drug would cause significant alterations for men.

The muscle tone, prostatic muscle, gland, and collagen structures could all be affected.

And the result may be ejaculatory and erectile dysfunction problems that may not be reversible at all.

We just don’t know.

Meanwhile, millions of men are the willing guinea pigs for this type of drug.

The shame of it is that there are much better ways of fixing prostate issues than these alpha-one blockers.
