Do you know your purpose?

You might already know that I’m obsessed with aging well and having a long and healthy lifespan.
It’s incredibly important to me to be able to not only be physically well, but also to go into each day with a sense of near euphoria and purpose.
I don’t think I’m alone in this desire to have a sense of purpose in my life.
Very few people want to lay around the house feeling useless all day long.
A sense of purpose is critical to living a full and healthy life.

In a study from Washington University in St. Louis, researchers found that a feeling of purposefulness is something that you can easily curate in your own life.
“Specifically for our retired older adults, this is a construct we should really care about,” said Gabrielle Pfund, who led the study as a PhD student in the lab of Patrick Hill, associate professor of psychological and brain sciences. Pfund graduated in June and is now at Northwestern University.
The reason that purposefulness is so important is because it can help you to live a longer and happier life…
…and have lower risk of health problems like dementia and heart problems.
Having a sense of purpose is about more than feeling good. Prior research has shown that adults with a higher sense of purpose lead longer, healthier and happier lives. They have lower rates of Alzheimer’s disease and heart and other cardiovascular problems.
Participants in this study were asked about their social interactions three times a day and were also asked about their sense of purposefulness every day.
What they found was that positive social interactions had a direct bearing on the feeling of purposefulness.
After analyzing the responses, they found — relative to each person’s own baseline — the more positive interactions a person had during the day, the more purposeful they reported feeling in the evening. Other measures, including employment and relationship status, did not predict a person’s sense of purpose.
I think this is great news!
The type of social interactions you have during the day is largely under your control…
…and if you aren’t getting positive social interactions right now, that’s something that you can work to change.
“If you’re feeling like your life has no purpose, that’s not how it’s always going to be. That’s not your life. That can change.”
You can change the feeling of purposefulness in your life by cultivating positive social interactions.
“The people in your life are going to have a very, very big impact on that,” she said. “If you find yourself surrounded by people who bring you down … that’s going to have an impact.
“On the flipside, if you’re surrounded by people who lift you up and who infuse your life with positivity, that’s going to have an impact, too.”
It’s never too late to make new friends, have new experiences, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Personally, I get a ton of positive experiences with the people I work with and with activities that I do outside of the house.
But if you are retired, you can still get these interactions that give you a sense of purpose.
Join a cycling club, a book club, or volunteer at a cause that you love.
It’s the positive interaction that counts the most, so it’s a good idea to set yourself up to have as many positive interactions as possible.

Ever heard of oxytocin? It’s the hormone for happiness in life

There’s a hormone more powerful than serotonin or even testosterone…
It’s called oxytocin and it’s responsible for that addicting, pleasurable feeling you get when you’re intimate with a woman.
And studies show oxytocin is the true hormone that increases erections in men:

So how do you boost oxytocin levels for better erections and even more pleasure?
Well here’s the thing — it has to be made naturally in the body…
So what I’ve done is come up with a simple protocol that gets your body to produce more oxytocin on its own.
Here’s how to try my oxytocin protocol tonight (with a partner or by yourself)
