Coconut oil helps shrink prostate

People think that all kinds of things cause prostate issues.

But the evidence is pretty clear that estrogen causes prostate problems.

And what causes increases in estrogen?

Often, it’s our diets — especially when we eat bad oils.

Sugar consumption has been declining for years.

But consumption of vegetable oils, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) has continued to increase.

As the consumption PUFAs has increased, there’s been a mind-boggling increase in obesity.

Obesity was measured by body mass index, or BMI.

You can see how closely related our use of PUFAs is to our ballooning weight!

And, it turns out that vegetable oil consumption is linked to prostate inflammation.

It isn’t really a big surprise.

There have been many studies over the years showing that vegetable oil causes inflammation in all of the organs.

The prostate is especially sensitive to this inflammation.

So this study gives us a hint about what we might do to fix prostate problems without dangerous medications.

Researchers gave rats various combinations of oils, and they injected them with testosterone.

When a rat is injected with extra testosterone, its prostate can grow.

This growth is because of a chain reaction from the testosterone.

The injected testosterone increases aromatase in the body.

And the aromatase turns the testosterone into estrogen.

The estrogen then inflames the prostate, along with other organs.

It’s the same with human men as with these rats.

When a man gets extra testosterone injections, that extra testosterone is turned to estrogen in the man’s body.

And that excess estrogen causes prostate inflammation.

So the researchers looked at how oils in the diet affected this process.

They wanted to see how diet affected inflammation in the prostate.

This study shows the effects of various types of oils on the prostate.

The highest inflammation level was from soy oil.

Most of what we call “vegetable” oil is actually soy oil.

But you could probably see exactly the same negative impact from other oils.

For example, corn oil was not included in the study.

They didn’t just look at vegetable oil, though.

The researchers did find that sunflower seed oil also caused prostate enlargement.

But they did find something useful as well.

There was one oil that actually helps shrink prostate inflammation.

This oil was coconut oil.

In fact, coconut oil worked as well as saw palmetto in shrinking the prostate.

This should prove that you want to cut back your consumption of all vegetable oils to is near zero as possible.

Instead, make sure to include plenty of saturated fat, especially coconut oil and butter in your diet.

Soy oil, or what we know as vegetable oil, caused the highest levels of inflammation in the study. The only oil in the study that actually reduced the size of the prostate was coconut oil. As a matter of fact, coconut oil worked just as well as saw palmetto for shrinking the size of the prostate.
What happened to the rats provides a glimpse into the impacts these different oils have on the human body. PUFAs cause weight gain, inflamed prostates, and higher estrogen levels. Coconut oil actually reverses these effects.
It should be noted that the study wasn’t perfect. Even the coconut oil had traces of vegetable oil mixed in with it. But the results were clear as day nonetheless. Coconut oil was the clear champion, health-wise. Soy oil was demonstrably worse for the health of the rats.
If you are having prostate issues, or are looking to avoid having such issues down the line, limit your intake of vegetable oils. Avoid margarine at all costs! Make sure your diet includes foods rich in saturated fats, such as coconut oil and butter.

4. Is coconut oil good for erectile dysfunction?
