Canola oil is bad for you

Canola oil is bad for you

Every day, many email me something like, “Matt, is it okay to eat peanut butter every day?”

Or, “Matt, I eat a lot of nuts.  Is that okay?”

Or I get, “Matt, I use canola oil and olive oil for cooking because it’s heart healthy.  Am I doing the right thing?”

And then I have to tell them that they need to limit these things.

I have to remind them, canola oil is bad for you.

We talk about fats all the time.

We talk about peanut oil, nuts and the oils in nuts, and cooking oil.

These are all what are called PUFAs, polyunsaturated fatty acids.

And as long been proven that PUFAs suppress the immune system.

They suppress the metabolism.

And they cause widespread inflammatory processes in the body.

Today, years and years have gone by that we have known these things.

But still, they have been touting omega-3 rich oils as the answer.

Omega-3 fatty acids are contained in canola oil, flaxseed oil, walnut oil and fish oil.

Doctors and nutritionists say, “yes, those PUFAs may not be so good.

“But it’s because they are not balanced with enough omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids.”

[cmamad id=”3991″ align=”center” tabid=”display-desktop” mobid=”display-desktop” stg=””]

So then patients reach for vegetable oils which are rich in omega-6 fatty acids.

Supposedly, omega-6 PUFAs are fine as long as you balance them with some omega-3 PUFAs.

At least that is according to the new theory.

But this is completely incorrect.

How can balancing eating one bad fat with another bad fat suddenly make them good for you?

There is no chemical body magic that makes these two types of fat counter-balance the damage they each do.

However, there are billions of dollars at stake with fish oil, canola oil, and flaxseed oil.

Their lobbies are strong.

Lobbies don’t want the facts about canola oil and other omega-3 oils.

And it is very difficult to get any alternative studies funded that show the dangers of these omega-3 fatty acids.

So it’s nice to see this study come along:

I generally do not like these kinds of “meta-analysis.”

However, it’s the best we can do right now.

And the study is very, very revealing.

The researching doctors looked at many studies done on fish oils, canola oil and omega-3 oils in general.

And they conclude that

omega-3 PUFA supplementation was not associated with a lower risk of all-cause mortality, cardiac death, sudden death, myocardial infarction, or stroke based on relative and absolute measures of association.

It’s nice to see such a clear conclusion to a study or an analysis of other studies.

It’s a long time in coming!

So what’s the truth about the oils you should use?

The truth is that omega-3 fatty acids suppress the immune system.

These are just some of the dangers of canola oil, fish and flaxseed oils.

They may give a temporary respite to people have a lot of inflammation.

But as soon as these oils get into the body, they break down into what are called lipid peroxides.

Lipid peroxides are extremely toxic to the body.

And the body has to figure out how to get rid of these toxic lipid peroxides.

They are extremely bad news.

I do eat fish.

But I tend to avoid fish such as salmon, herring, or sardines.

I avoid these because they are high in fish oil, and I do not want fish oil.

It’s dangerous.

Besides… it smells bad.

That’s because this type of oil is highly unstable.

It can’t even stand exposure to the air.

When you put it in your body, you’re putting it in a higher temperature cauldron of oxygen and other chemicals.

These immediately break the fish oil down and cause all kinds of poisons to result from it.

You really can’t improve this by consuming any other types of fatty acids.

We just need to stop consuming these kinds of fatty acids.

Remember, by “fatty acid” I mean oils.

I’m talking about cooking oils — oils found in food.

The only safe oils are fully saturated oils.

Olive oil contains about 10% to 15% polyunsaturated fatty acids.

I would not consume more than a teaspoon or so a day of olive oil.

I wouldn’t consider any fish oil at all.

I also wouldn’t consume any canola oil at all.

And I wouldn’t consume any flaxseed oil at all.

I wouldn’t consume any nuts of any kind either, or canola or flaxseed oils.

This is the best way to begin restoring your health.

You’ll begin restoring your male potency, and your youthful vigor.

It can take four years or more to get rid of the PUFAs already stored in your tissues.

You should get started now.

  1. Hi Matt,
You keep saying what NOT to eat, but that eliminates just about everything the nutritionists say is ‘good’ for us? So what do you think we should eat, then?
