Breaking: This natural lipid could be a cure for chronic inflammation

Inflammation is protective in some circumstances. But it also can be really bad news.

That’s just how inflammation is.

When your body uses it as an immune response and the inflammation remains under control, it’s very helpful.

But when inflammation becomes chronic or out of control, it can be damaging.

Scientists have used this inflammation paradox to discover a potential new breakthrough to combat inflammation on a systemic body-wide scale.

They discovered a lipid that a disease-causing bacterium uses to suppress the immune response by suppressing inflammation.

“Researchers have identified a naturally occurring lipid – a waxy, fatty acid – used by a disease-causing bacterium to impair the host immune response and increase the chance of infection. Inadvertently, they also may have found a potent inflammation therapy against bacterial and viral diseases.”

The lipid that may save lives

Scientists found this lipid – called phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) – in a bacterium called F. tularensis.

But F. tularensis is extremely infectious and very challenging to work with.

So, instead of trying to extract the natural lipid from the bacteria, scientists developed a synthetic form to test.

“Because naturalF. tularensisis highly infectious and therefore challenging to work with, the group developed synthetic lipids – PE2410 and PEPC2410 – that would be much easier to study and produce.”

The synthetic form of PE had amazing results…

Both the naturally occurring and synthetic forms of PE effectively suppressed immune response and therefore inflammation.

“Because several types of viral infections involve an unconstrained inflammatory response, the group tested natural and their synthetic PE in the laboratory against dengue fever virus-infected human cells. Both versions inhibited the immune response compared to the immune response seen in infected but untreated cells.”

This is incredibly promising research, because most chronic diseases are caused by internal inflammation of the cells of the body.

And, by being able to suppress an overactive immune response, PE has the potential to combat many chronic diseases.

This includes diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, “rockiness” problems, and diabetes – among many others.

Right now, we don’t have much to combat inflammation other than NSAIDs and diet.

So, having another tool in the toolbox would be amazing.

How to combat chronic inflammation now

Here’s the thing…

While this research looks incredibly promising, it’s nowhere near ready for human trials, yet…let alone broad human use.

And as you probably know, I’m not a big fan of trial medicine unless it’s the ONLY option.

“They hope their findings will eventually lead to the development of a potent, broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory therapeutic.”

That means that if you’re suffering from a disease that is caused by chronic inflammation, you’ll need to take matters into your own hands to reduce the inflammation in your body.

Fortunately, we know a lot about inflammation and what causes it.

This is something you’re not going to hear at your doctor’s office, because, frankly, doctors are mostly trained to prescribe meds.

They’re not trained to teach you how to live a life where you don’t need to be drugged up with Big Pharma pills.

One of the most effective things you can do to combat internal inflammation in your body is to stop feeding it junk.

In the Western world, we usually eat a whole lot of processed food.

This includes things like snack cakes, salad dressings, canned and frozen prepared meals, and more.

Most of these foods are loaded with polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).

These include things like soy oil, corn oil, canola oil, and any vegetable oil that is liquid at room temperature.

PUFAs cause a ton of internal, chronic inflammation in the body.

If you get rid of PUFAs, then you’re likely to have chronic inflammation go down over time.

It’s also a really good idea to also stop cooking with PUFAs and substitute small amounts of butter or coconut oil instead.

The new medical breakthroughs that are coming are very exciting, but it’s important not to rely on them completely.

You have to take charge of your own health, so that you can live a good life well into your old age.

I’m planning on living till 120… How about you?
