Why isn't your doctor telling you about penile fibrosis?

Science knows no boundaries.

It’s the same everywhere.

However, in some places on the earth, funding heavily influences science.

And this influences which studies researchers conduct.

Some studies may not happen, and others may be conducted poorly or a distorted fashion.

For this reason, I like to see studies sometimes from places where they don’t have an interest in Big Pharma.

Here’s a review conducted by two physician scientists in Saudi Arabia that made some interesting points.

I’m often asked, “Why doesn’t my doctor tell me about penile fibrosis?  You’re the only one that I’ve ever heard discuss this.”

I don’t know why the doctors aren’t more aware of the problem.

But I realized several years ago that penile fibrosis affects at least 20% of the men coming to me for help.

There is a type of penile fibrosis known as Peyronie’s.

But that’s only when there is a severe bend or pain during erections.

Most men who have penile fibrosis don’t have a bend in their penis, and they may not know they have it.

What causes penile fibrosis?

As these doctors point out,

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is associated with loss of smooth muscle cells , and an increase in fibrosis has been repeatedly reported in corporal tissue of patients with ED

The linings of the erection chamber in the penile tissue are what is called smooth muscle cells.

Smooth muscle cells also line the blood vessels feeding the penile tissues with blood.

When those smooth muscle cells get messed up, the result is fibrosis that sets in.

Why did these smooth muscle cells get messed up?

Inflammation, in a nutshell. Or from the review:

Fibrosis is characterized by an increase in collagen and is associated with the production of profibrotic factors, such as transforming growth factor beta, and reactive oxygen species during oxidative stress.

You have to see the end of that sentence to really get it.

Reactive oxygen species are what scientists call free radicals.

Oxidative stress means low oxygen levels that cause the cells to have low energy, low metabolism, and basically sick mitochondria.

That’s what causes so many problems — including fibrosis and eventually cancer.

One thing that goes along with fibrosis is nitric oxide.

The enzyme nitric oxide synthase (NOS) produces nitric.

The expression of NOS accompanying fibrosis and oxidative stress also has been seen in rat models for aging of arterial vessels, cavernosal nerve damage, types 1 and 2 diabetes, and chronic smoking

So, perhaps nitric oxide isn’t so wonderful.

Perhaps what you want to do is get your metabolism improved to prevent penile fibrosis.

And you certainly want to keep nitric oxide levels low and get plenty of oxygen to your tissues.

The good doctors in Saudi Arabia have a wonderful table showing you some of the causes and symptoms that end up becoming penile fibrosis.

And yet, you and I have been voices in the wilderness.

Nobody is talking about this much. Doctors still never mention it.

Drug companies don’t really care about it yet.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to make money on it.

The solution to pinup fibrosis lays in high youthful metabolism characterized by high testosterone and low estrogen levels.

On the left side, you see the results of a good metabolism with high testosterone.

And then on the right side, you see the results of a poor metabolism with low testosterone and high estrogen.

Androgen deprivation produces penile tissue atrophy, increase in collagen deposition and accumulation of adipocytes in the subtunical region of the corpus cavernosum.

And yet so many doctors are still telling men that they should make sure they don’t have high testosterone.

Because supposedly high testosterone promotes prostate cancer.

There are more myths and more ridiculous advice in this area than almost anything else that can simply destroy men’s health.

The truth about penile fibrosis is that very simply if you don’t use it you lose it.

Regular night time erections and plenty of high-connection pleasurable and loving intercourse can prevent penile fibrosis.

And it can promote health for many decades — even for older men.

But if you don’t have a partner, perhaps you can get one.

It is never too late to find an amazing woman to spend the remainder of your life with.

Or even just a woman to have a good time with.

And that will help you prevent or reverse penile fibrosis.
