Many diabetic men have very severe erectile dysfunction.

I think that we can shed some light on why diabetic men have such severe ED today.

And we can talk about what you can do about it in today’s newsletter.

Even if you’re not a diabetic, this will be interesting.

In this study, about half of the diabetic men who became entirely incapable of having sex.

Typically, the onset of impotence was gradual, usually progressing over a period of six months to a year with an interval during which firmness of erection was decreased.

This is a good description of what happens to a lot of guys who are reading my newsletter.

So let’s see if it’s a matter of low testosterone.

Or if it is a matter of low quantities of the male hormones called androgens.

Plasma testosterone levels were within normal limits in impotent diabetics or in the group without impotence.

And it’s not insulin that causes the ED either:

Occurrence of impotence was not correlated with duration of diabetes or with insulin or oral agents.

So then what is causing all the ED with diabetic men?

Everybody who talks about diabetes always sees it as a problem of blood sugar.

But diabetes is not a problem caused by blood sugar.

While high blood sugar does cause damage to the body, it is only a side-effect of diabetes.

Lowering blood sugar is not the solution to diabetes.

Here is a very important study that shows that when cortisol levels are high, testosterone levels are low.

This study tested low carb and high carb diets for normal (nondiabetic) men.

As we explore this study, remember: Diabetics always have high cortisol. Always.

So both cortisol and sugar levels are high, and testosterone levels are low.

And here is one reason.

The diets and treatment for diabetes often emphasize a low carbohydrate diet.

They’re trying to get to a point of low blood sugar rather than the high levels diabetics usually have.

But in this study about testosterone and cortisol:

Testosterone concentrations were consistently higher after ten days on a high carbohydrate diet.

And low-carb diets cause high cortisol.

Cortisol concentrations were consistently lower during the high carbohydrate diet.

Take a look at this very important study:

Diabetic men have very high cortisol levels.

These high levels correspond to low testosterone levels.

And these low T levels correspond to a very high likelihood of having erectile dysfunction.

The secret to fixing diabetes and fixing the sexual problems of diabetic men have is to lower cortisol levels.

Don’t focus so much on blood sugar, but focus a lot on cortisol levels.

By lowering cortisol levels, diabetics can begin normalizing their blood sugar and increasing their testosterone levels.
