Vitamin K2 inhibits estrogen!

Many men suffer poor erection quality and low libido.

And as I’ve been telling you for quite a long time, the problem has more to do with high estrogen in men than it does low testosterone.

Men in other cultures do extremely well with testosterone rates that the western world considers low.

But men in these other cultures have lots of children, plenty of sex, and live a long time.

They also have lower estrogen levels.

The real problem for men these days is that they have too much estrogen.

It’s also the reason why testosterone supplementation so often doesn’t work.

Testosterone supplementation is not addressing the real problem.

The real problem is that these men usually have extremely high estrogen levels.

In fact, these men often have estrogen levels that are higher than the levels of their wives.

Now we see some evidence that vitamin K2 helps to lower estrogen levels and is very valuable.

In this newsletter, I want to share two important studies that show Vitamin K2 inhibits estrogen.

It’s very difficult to get enough Vitamin K2 just from your diet.

Vitamin K is not the same as vitamin K2.

Vitamin K is named from the German word for coagulation, for clotting of blood.

And it helps the blood clot and is produced by bacteria in the gut.

These bacteria convert the vitamin K into K2.

Like I said, it’s difficult to get a lot of vitamin K2 from food.

But cooked green leaf vegetables such as kale and collards have a generous amount of vitamin K.

And beef liver has a lot.

If you are into Japanese food, you may have tried natto, which most Westerners find pretty nauseating.

Natto consists of fermented soybeans and contains a tremendous amount of vitamin K2.

Almost all the good research on vitamin K2 is being done in Japan — possibly because of natto’s popularity there.

So now let’s get to the first study which shows how vitamin K2 lowers estrogen levels.

As expected, it is a Japanese study.

Recall that estrogen is a powerful inflammatory hormone.

Higher estrogen levels also cause your prostate to enlarge and cause cancers to grow faster.

Most men over 50 have some cancer cells already.

And higher estrogen levels simply promote the cancer cell growth and can increase the chances of having tumors.

Vitamin K2 appears to cause estrogen levels to fall.

K2 caused the inhibition of the amount of estrogen receptor alpha-binding to its target DNA.

These results suggest a possible novel role for vitamin K in modulating estrogen function.

So, what should you do now?

Well, you can take vitamin K2 in either MP4 or MK7 types.

I highly recommend MK4.

I haven’t found MK7 to be very useful myself.

You could take anywhere from 1 mg to 45 mg per day and probably quite a bit more.

45 mg a day over three doses of 15 mg each is what most of the Japanese studies use.

It is this type of dosage which will tend to lower estrogen levels pretty dramatically in the male body.

Women can take vitamin K2 as well — helps prevent osteoporosis.

You should always take vitamin K2 with some vitamin D3 and some calcium.

Vitamin K2 will help the calcium go into the bones and will help clear the arteries of plaque.

But most importantly in this study, we see that vitamin K2 is a powerful help for lowering men’s estrogen levels.

How does Vitamin K2 effect Estrogen levels?

Vitamin K2 levels do not directly affect estrogen levels in men. However, it is quite frequent that vitamin K2 levels are very low in a man while his estrogen is very high. Estrogen is often present in high levels in men who are suffering from belly fat, low libido, poor erectile function and problems such as high blood pressure, prostate inflammation, or type two diabetes. These same men often have very low vitamin K two levels. When vitamin K2 increases, estrogen levels may not actually decline but oftentimes testosterone levels can rise. Vitamin K2 can increase testosterone production by the Leydig cells in the testes. And this can help increase a man’s sexual libido and improve his health.

Vitamin K2 MK4 can work over period of hours and increase testosterone production in a man’s leydig cells in his testes.MK7 is present in high levels in certain foods although most Westerners will never eat these foods. 1. Oestrogen is also essential for joint integrity and to enable men to get a proper erection. Please mention it’s beneficial effects in males too in order to give a balanced comprehensive article rather than vilifying it as the Hitler of hormones!

    • Estrogen is made by all cells in enough quantity. We need it, just as we need cortisol. But in most of us, estrogen is already too high. Thank you for your comment.

  2. Good article. The only thing I’d question is the need for calcium. Bone weakness comes from a lack of 12 minerals – magnesium, boron, copper, etc. Also, we already get too much calcium via cheese, milk, etc. There’s a good book and seminar called “The Calcium Lie”.

    • calcium, when lower than phosphorus in the diet, increases parathyroid hormone which is highly inflammatory and fibrotic and best kept lower rather than higher. That’s why I suggest higher calcium.
