Anyone who’s ever been lonely knows that loneliness can be brutal.

It’s probably one of the most brutal of all emotions.

Loneliness can leave you feeling isolated.

It can put you into a downward mental spiral that can be hard to come back from.

But loneliness CAN be overcome.

You can gain social status – and become more attractive to women…

Sometimes within just a few hours!

Let’s take a look at the science of how loneliness, social isolation, and sleep (yep, sleep) are related.

Warning: This loneliness solution can leave you feeling “dead” down there…

Before I get deep into this, I need to get something off my chest…

One of the main symptoms of loneliness is a feeling of depression or generally being down in the dumps.

That’s normal and it’s really frustrating.

Unfortunately, many guys go on antidepressants as a first step to get over it.

This is a problem because these drugs (especially SSRIs) are not only ADDICTIVE…

These treatments can also leave you with erectile dysfunction.

Which means when you do get a woman to have sex with, things might not go the way you want.

For me, any intervention that’s going to mess up my sexual function would be an absolute last resort.

Because I like sex too much to do anything that going to cause me problems like that.

Now, don’t get me wrong…. SSRIs (like Prozac and Lexapro) can be useful…

Especially in the short term.

But it’s a good idea to try other methods first if that’s possible.

Now let’s get on to the science for today – how sleep deprivation affects your social life.

Sleep deprivation makes you REPULSIVE!

Most people know that if they don’t get enough sleep they will feel yucky and maybe like they just don’t want to deal with people.

But… science is now discovering that if you get too little sleep you will face MORE social REJECTION.

Crazy, right?

“The less sleep you get, the less you want to socially interact. In turn, other people perceive you as more socially repulsive, further increasing the grave social-isolation impact of sleep loss…That vicious cycle may be a significant contributing factor to the public health crisis that is loneliness.”

Sleep deprivation is not the ONLY cause of loneliness, but it can create a cruddy cycle that increases social isolation and can lead to even less sleep.

“Without sufficient sleep, we become a social turn-off, and loneliness soon kicks in.”

To make matters worse, lack of sleep not only contributes to a very nasty cycle of loneliness…

It also contributes to mortality risk – or dying early.

“Furthermore, loneliness has been found to increase one’s risk of mortality by more than 45% – double the mortality risk associated with obesity.”

But getting enough sleep can turn all of that around.

Just two more hours of sleep (each night) can dramatically increase how attractive you are.

If you feel lonely or depressed, it’s a good idea to take a real look at how much sleep you’re getting.

If you’re not sure, then a Fitbit can help you figure it out by tracking your sleeping and waking cycles pretty accurately.

By getting a full seven to nine hours of sleep in one shot (usually an hour or two more than people who are shorting their sleep get) you can instantly MAKE yourself more attractive.

“On a positive note, just one night of good sleep makes you feel more outgoing and socially confident, and furthermore, will attract others to you.”

Who knew that turning off the late-late show could make you more attractive?

Seriously though, if you struggle with loneliness try getting one or two hours more sleep a night and watch what happens.
