Hypertension or high blood pressure is a major risk for cardiovascular disease and dementia over the long term.

Blood pressure naturally increases a little with age.

But many people have blood pressure that really is too high.

Hypertension can be a tricky thing to treat…

But there are small tricks that can lower blood pressure little — and they all add up.

Researchers in Japan conducted a large study looking at the effect of breathing on blood pressure.

Just 30 seconds of controlled breathing can lower blood pressure…

…so much so that the researchers believe it could interfere with blood pressure readings!

This research was conducted by doctors from the Japanese Medical and Dental Practitioners for the Improvement of Medical Care in Tokyo. The results were published in Hypertension Research.

Slow deep breathing is known to have a calming effect on the nervous system.

Blood pressure is largely controlled by the nervous system.

Still, there has been little research done into the effect of breathing on hypertension.

“Little is known about the relation between deep breathing and blood pressure.”

This study recruited tens of thousands of people from all over Japan.

“We asked 19,055 clinics or hospitals in Japan to participate in the study.”

Over 20,000 people were included in the final analysis.

The participants were randomly split into two groups.

Group one performed the deep breathing exercise. The blood pressure taken before and after.

“In one group, blood pressure was measured before and after taking 6 deep breaths.”

Group 2 did not perform any deep breathing.

“In the other group blood pressure was measured before and after 30 seconds of resting in the sitting position.”

Blood pressure rises with activity — even walking.

So it’s recommended that people sit for a period before having their blood pressure taken.

“All patients rested 10 min or more in the waiting room and another 2 min or more in the doctor’s office.”

The researchers then analyzed the blood pressure data from the 21,563 participants.

Blood pressure decreased in both groups — as you might expect while resting.

Blood pressure decreased more rapidly in the participants during the deep breathing technique.

“Blood pressure reductions were greater in the deep breathing group than in the rest group.”

The participants were categorized according to their starting blood pressure readings and medication.

Blood pressure decreased about twice as much in the people doing the deep breathing exercise.

This was true of people with normal blood pressure, people with hypertension, and hypertensives taking medication.

Deep breathing decreased blood pressure by more than 3.7 points in just 30 seconds.

The exercise provided more benefit to people with higher blood pressure to begin with.

“Greater blood pressure reductions were found in patients with a higher baseline blood pressure in both the beep breathing and 30-s rest groups.”

The study used a pretty simple breathing exercise.

“We instructed the patients to take six deep breaths at about 80% maximum capacity over a period of 30 seconds.”

The researchers found it was important that the participants were not holding their breath.

In experiments, holding the breath increased blood pressure.

“When patients were asked to perform six deep breaths over a period of one minute, they sometimes held their breath, resulting in increased blood pressure.”

Previous studies noted similar effects from deep breathing exercises.

“Bernardi et al. noted that blood pressure decreased with slower or deeper breathing due to the relative increase of vagal activity.”

Anxiety around medical professionals is a significant problem in assessing blood pressure.

This has been called “white coat hypertension” after the doctor’s white coat.

Anxiety increases blood pressure and that can cause false results.

One study found that deep breathing can minimize increases in blood pressure related to anxiety.

“Patients with white coat hypertension showed a significant reduction of blood pressure after deep breathing.”

Breathing exercises could play a significant role in naturally lowering hypertension.

You should always consult a healthcare practitioner about treating and diagnosing health problems.

Engorgement

I discovered how to get massive blood flow to the male member.

Weirdly enough, it works for any man, but especially for men who have high blood pressure.

It works by increasing the diameter of the tiny arteries, called arterioles, that feel the blood to the penis.

And it works like gangbusters for any man who wants to have a bigger and better towel hanger for the bedroom.

Here’s the secret to huge engorgement (also lowers men’s blood pressure weirdly enough)
