It’s a powerhouse vitamin that most people overlook

This forgotten vitamin protects the heart AND kidneys
The ratio of calcium to phosphate is very important for your overall health.
These two minerals have a huge effect on the inflow and outflow of calcium from the bones.
Lower calcium compared to phosphate can lead to weak bones and a calcified body – the calcification of the blood vessels is a large mechanism behind atherosclerosis.
One way to alter this ratio is to eat more calcium and less phosphate.
But a number of lines of research also show that some of the benefits of niacinamide may be due to its decreasing toxic levels of phosphate levels in the body.
The human research was carried out at Washington University School of Medicine. The paper was published in The Clinical Journal of The American Society of Nephrologists.
Niacinamide is a vitamin – a specific form of vitamin B3.
Niacinamide has a lot of beneficial effects including reducing the amount of phosphorus absorbed in the gut.
“Niacinamide inhibits intestinal sodium/phosphorus transporters and reduces serum phosphorus in open-label studies.”
Phosphorus/phosphate can be very harmful to the body when consumed or absorbed in excess.
Calcium helps to block the detrimental effects of phosphorus but these days many people’s diets are loaded with high phosphorus foods like grains and meats.
High calcium foods like dairy and green leafy vegetables are decreasing.
The ratio is shifting in favor of phosphorus – and that’s a bad thing.
Phosphorus is a particularly immediate problem for people with chronic kidney disease as the kidneys are involved in phosphorus regulation.
So, these researchers carried out a study to see if niacinamide could stave off elevated phosphorus levels in this condition.
“A prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial was performed for assessment of the safety and efficacy of niacinamide.”
The researchers recruited 33 patients with high phosphorus levels to take a relatively high dose of niacinamide or an inactive placebo for eight weeks.
The patients took between 500 mg and 1500 mg of niacinamide a day.
“33 hemodialysis patients with phosphorus levels > or =5.0 mg/dl were randomly assigned to 8 wk of niacinamide or placebo.”
After a 2 week break the participants switched groups so everyone had done the placebo and niacinamide regime.
All supplements and medications which are known to affect calcium and phosphorus were kept stable during the trial.
The researchers found a significant decrease in phosphorus in kidney dialysis patients taking niacinamide.
“Serum phosphorus fell significantly from 6.3 to 5.5 with niacinamide but not with placebo.”
There were no significant side-effects compared to placebo and the researchers didn’t find any major changes to calcium or other related blood tests.
“Adverse effects were similar between both groups.”
The study shows that niacinamide is effective at reducing harmful serum phosphorus even in people undergoing kidney dialysis.
“In hemodialysis patients, niacinamide effectively reduces serum phosphorus when co-administered with binders.”
The results are potentially very beneficial for people who suffer with this disease.
“Further study in larger randomized trials and other chronic kidney disease populations is indicated.”
The findings also have implications for everyone else.
As I have written in my newsletters, the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body has a huge effect on your overall health.
Decreasing phosphorus in increasing calcium consumption can have a major beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system by reducing calcium deposition in the heart and blood vessels.
But it doesn’t stop there – high phosphorus and low calcium leads to calcium deposition in all of the soft tissues in the body.
This accelerates aging and decreases the vitality of all tissues.
Back in the 1960s, a 17-time Nobel Prize nominee called Hans Selye identified this high phosphorus – calcification syndrome as one of the main activators of accelerated aging.
These rats are the same biological age but rat A has been manipulated to have high tissue calcium, physiologically similar to any animal with a high body ratio of phosphorus to calcium.
We know from previous research that the reduction in serum phosphorus seen in these people is due to a reduction in absorption of phosphorus in the gut.
This reducing effect of niacinamide on phosphorus may be one of the reasons why it’s becoming more and more well known as a promising life extender.
You should always consult your healthcare practitioner for guidance on medical diagnosis and treatment.

Bolivian monk’s 90-second exercise makes your body impervious to heart attacks
What if you could relax your blood vessels?
The vessels expand as they relax, so what does that do to your blood pressure?
It lowers it of course.
Since I was having trouble with my blood pressure, especially in the mountains…
…one of the monks showed me this simple 90 second exercise that lowers blood pressure.
It works by relaxing the blood vessels.
It’s true…now I feel relaxed, my head stops pulsating, my heartbeat is strong and steady…
…and I notice something really weird, totally unexpected, kind of embarrassing.
I’m getting the biggest, strongest woodie I can remember having in ages, maybe ever!
And it’s because blood flow is massively increased in men down there as a result of this exercise.
And most importantly, this prevents heart disease, heart attacks, and stroke.
So here’s the 90-second exercise I learned from the monks
