Proof you can change your body at a genetic level
You’ll often hear me touting the idea…
…that you have far more control over your health, longevity, and overall enjoyment of life than you probably give yourself credit for.
The reality is that your body is ALWAYS adapting to its surroundings.
It adapts to the food you put into it, how much physical activity you get on a regular basis.
But your body is doing far more than increasing or decreasing muscle mass and depositing fat onto or cleaning up your arteries…
The body is also changing at a genetic level and it does it automatically and in response to your environment and lifestyle.
This is absolutely remarkable and there are some new discoveries that are shedding light on how our bodies accomplish this amazing feat.
The mechanism that your body uses to change its own genetic expression is RNA.
It uses RNA to turn on and off different parts of your genetic expression.
Using new simulations, researchers discovered one part of RNA smoothly invades and displaces another part of the same RNA, enabling the structure to rapidly and dramatically change shape. Called strand displacement, this mechanism appears to switch genetic expression from ‘on’ to ‘off’.
The ability for RNA to fold and turn gene expression on and off comes from its ability to fold.
New simulations are showing researchers how the RNA functions.
Using a simulation they launched last year, the researchers made this discovery by watching a slow-motion simulation of a riboswitch up close and in action. Affectionately called R2D2 (short for “reconstructing RNA dynamics from data”), the new simulation models RNA in three dimensions as it binds to a compound, communicates along its length and folds to turn a gene “on” or “off.”
This type of folding isn’t a rare event.
It’s something that takes place in the body in numbers so big that they are hard for the human brain to comprehend.
Although RNA folding takes place in the human body more than 10 quadrillion times per second — every time a gene is expressed in a cell — researchers know very little about the process.
The fact that RNA folding and its ability to influence gene expression takes place so incredibly frequently is exciting to me.
Because it means that the actions that I take in my own life to improve and protect my health…
…can actually influence my body positively on the GENETIC level.
It’s crazy, but it also happens to be true. There are a lot of diseases that are caused by problems with the RNA.
And researchers are (of course) trying to figure out how to monetize this discovery with the development of new pharmaceuticals.
“Many diseases are likely caused by something going awry at the RNA level,” Lucks said. “The more we know about this, the better we can design RNA targeting drugs and RNA therapeutics.”
That’s not a surprise since much of this research is paid for by Big Pharma. But that doesn’t mean we can’t use the same research to our own advantage.
I believe that just knowing that RNA can switch our gene expression on and off gives us a lot of power.
We don’t have to sit around and wait for doctors to fix us.
I have nothing against doctors in particular.
They can be useful in some situations.
But I also think that it’s imperative that we take responsibility for our own health so that we can get the best possible health outcomes for ourselves.
That’s what I intend to do and I hope you join me.
—-Important Message—-
Join me in living to 120
I’ve been studying men who live to 110, 120… and I’ve discovered one thing…
They are all eating this one food… that most “health gurus” say is totally BAD for you!
But how can it be?
When all of these men are eating it everyday and living to 120…
And not living in a nursing home, nothing like that.
These 110 and 120 year old men are living alone, walking everyday, playing sports, making love!
It’s incredible.
Take a look at these men and the 1 food they all eat
