Lactoferrin
Vitamin D deficiency is such a prevalent issue in our society.
Reports suggest that 1 BILLION people are deficient and nearly 50% half of the population are insufficient in vitamin D.
That’s some crazy numbers.
One of the main reasons for this is our modern lifestyle, which often involves spending more time indoors and less time in the sun.
Vitamin D is primarily produced in our bodies through exposure to UV rays.
So if we’re not getting enough sun…
… that’s a one-way ticket to “deficiency-land.”
In severe cases of deficiency, vitamin D supplements can be effective.
But…
Sometimes, no matter how much sun or supplement a person gets, vitamin D levels won’t go up.
The reason?
It might be gut inflammation.
“Vitamin D deficiency, a growing public health problem, is associated with elevated serum pro-inflammatory cytokines and gut microbial dysbiosis.”
Today’s study suggests an effective substance to solve this issue.
Lactoferrin.
This study was conducted at China Agricultural University. It was published in the Journal of Functional Foods.
Lactoferrin is a protein that is found primarily in milk.
It has been shown to have a range of benefits for our health, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant effects.
But despite its potential, it has yet to be well-known or commonly used.
After today, that might change for you – especially if you have low vitamin D levels that won’t go up.
The researchers investigated the effects of lactoferrin (LF) on vitamin D-deficient mice.
They gave some of the mice different doses of lactoferrin orally, while others didn’t receive any.
They then collected samples from the mice’s intestines and blood to analyze the effects of lactoferrin on gut health and inflammation.
The researchers found that LF improved the mice’s gut microbiota and reduced inflammation in their bodies by decreasing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in their blood.
“Our results showed that LF reduced the abundance of Oscillibacter, increased the proportion of Lachnospiraceae, Faecalibaculum and Lactobacillus. In addition, LF alleviated the elevated serum LBP, TNF-α, IL-6 and TGF-β induced by vitamin D deficiency.”
Additionally, LF increased the expression of the vitamin D receptor in the mice’s colon, which helps the body absorb vitamin D.
“Notably, we found the expression of vitamin D receptor significantly increased after LF supplement in the colon of vitamin D deficient mice.”
LF also improved the intestinal barrier by increasing the expression of certain proteins and reducing the activity of a protein that causes inflammation.
“At the same time, LF reduced the expression of TLR-4, inhibited the activity of NF-κB P65 and enhanced the expression of intestinal barrier proteins, including ZO-1, occludin, claudin-1 as well as E-cadherin in the colon of vitamin D deficient mice.”
Overall, lactoferrin improved the gut so much that it solved vitamin D deficiency in these mice.
If you have gut issues and vitamin D deficiency, those 2 might be closely related.
In that case, lactoferrin might help you.
And couple that with abundant sunlight, and your blood levels could skyrocket in no time.

This natural youth hormone is letting men live decades longer
It’s a natural youth hormone that was first discovered in 1950 by Dr. Broda Barnes.
He tested this youth hormone on more than 3,000 men…
…reporting powerful health benefits like a faster metabolism, perfect blood pressure, more stamina, even better sexual abilities…
And since then, it’s been kept a secret — only available to the affluent, privileged upper class of celebrities and politicians.
…rich people who can pay…
But now I’ve found a loophole…a new way for any man to get his hands on this natural youth hormone…
